Annual Conference

Registration is now open for the 2017 Thrombosis Canada annual conference

This program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario office for up to 4.00 Group Learning credits.

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 4.0 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

The Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy has accredited this program for 4 CEUs. 

Target Audience:

Physicians, nurses and pharmacists involved in management of patients with challenging medical or surgical conditions requiring personalized anticoagulant management.

Learning Objectives

 After participating in this conference, participants will be better able to:

  • Prescribe a safe and effective perioperative anticoagulant plan for patients on anticoagulant therapy who need to undergo elective invasive procedures or surgeries.
  • Plan for management of venous thromboembolism the primary care setting
  • Meet the needs of atrial fibrillation patients who have a high risk for bleeding and stroke
  • Effectively manage bleeding risk for patients on anticoagulants.
  • Personalize thrombotic risk management in women with a personal or family history of venous thromboembolism considering pregnancy or hormonal therapy
  • Tailor evidence-based antithrombotic therapy in patients who require dual antiplatelet therapy and anticoagulant therapy.

  • Residents and Students: $75.00
